Temporary exhibition "Le Redoutable, a sovereign tool submarine of the French Republic".
In partnership with the French Navy, the Charles de Gaulle Memorial presents the largest model of the "Le Redoutable" submarine.
On a 1/10 scale, more than 13 meters long, this model allows you to discover this legendary submarine, launched in Brest in 1967 at the instigation of General de Gaulle.
The first of the French SSBNs (nuclear ballistic missile submarines), the Redoutable played a leading role in the French deterrent program from its launch in 1967 to its retirement from active service in 1991.
